Tomorrow with six days left before Christmas, the weather in Houston is forecast to be an 80 degree day! The good news, a cold front is supposed to move in Thursday and stay through Christmas. With cooler weather and a weekend of socializing with friends and family, hopefully around a crackling fire, its time to mix some hot adult holiday beverages!
Have you ever tried a Tom & Jerry? (not the cartoon, silly!) This is a cocktail that dates back to New England in the 1820s and has been described by some as a hot eggnog like concoction.
I love apples and caramel, especially together, so this caramel apple hot toddy sounds divine!
A traditional holiday drink when its cold outside, mulled wine, “like Christmas in a glass.”
Hot Butter Caramel Rum, why am I just finding out there’s Caramel vodka? Yummy!
And speaking of Hot Buttered Rum, here is my personal recipe on how to make the batter from scratch!!
While the kids sip hot chocolate by the fire, why not enjoy some adult hot chocolate? This recipe for Peppermint hot chocolate use schnapps for an extra kick of flavor.
How about some Christmas Eve hot chocolate with dark chocolate, brandy, creme’ de cacao and coffee liqueur? (might want to wait until after you’ve assembled the toys, before drinking this one)
Raspberries, rum and rock candy spirit combined with tea bags for “Kristen’s Hottest Toddy”, created by mixologist, Kristen Schaefer, at Vegas’ Rhumbar.
Wassail is a traditional hot mulled cider that can be served with or without alcohol!
Sangria is refreshing in the summer, and hot spiced sangria can kick things up a notch in the winter!
Looks like its time to run to the liquor store and pick up a few ingredients for some hot holiday drinks! Cheers!
