Volunteer Vacation
Sometimes seeing the problems others must face allows us to put our own problems into perspective. One of the best ways to get over a relationship is to immerse yourself in a project that makes you feel good, and one of the best ways to feel good is to help others and give back.
Visit GlobeAware and search through a variety of destinations and charitable initiatives which will allow you to give back through short term travel volunteering. You can pick your destination almost anywhere in the world and chose from projects like teaching English to building new homes. Each project helps improve the lives of others and offers a better standard of living.
Instead of wallowing in heartache, get out into the world and get lost in a new adventure. Sometimes it takes getting lost to truly find yourself.
This is a fabulous post! I should have gone on more travel adventures to get over some of my bigger breakups in the past. Instead I ate, and I binge-watched Gilmore Girls, and I blogged. lol
When my divorce started last November I wish I could have afforded to go some place. It would of been nice to have some time to mourn the loss of a marriage, my step daughter and my in laws someplace else.
These are all great ideas. You really have to keep yourself busy after a breakup. If you don’t, you can drive yourself nuts.
I want to take all of these trips. I went to the Amalfi coast many years ago and would LOVE to go back. It was that amazing.
Those all sound like a lot of fun. I won’t be breaking up anytime soon, but would love to do some with my hubby!
