With some of the most spectacular ancient monuments on the planet, world class beaches and loads of fun-filled attractions, Egypt is the perfect holiday spot. If you’re not convinced, take a look at these seven reasons to visit Egypt, a spectacular African country.
Awe inspiring sights
Take an adventurous journey back through time and admire archaeological sights which date back thousands of years. From crumbling tombs to world famous museums and spectacular mosques, Egypt is a treasure trove of sightseeing wonders. It’s also home to the Great Pyramid of Giza – the last remaining ‘Seven Wonders of the Ancient World’.
One-of-a-kind experience
Few holiday destinations offer the diversity of attractions quite like Egypt. From bustling cities to vast deserts and tranquil beaches, visitors can choose an adventure to suit their needs. For a unique experience, a river cruise down the Nile is guaranteed to impress. Spot crocodiles, watch as the local fisherman haul the catch of the day and finish the evening with an memorable view of the sunset.
Mouthwatering cuisine
Come with an appetite, Egypt promises a culinary adventure not to be missed. Popular dishes include kofta meatballs, stuffed grape leaves known as dolma and the famed kebabs. You’ll also want to indulge in the delicious Baba Ghanoush dip, best enjoyed with freshly baked pitta bread.
Great shopping
Shopaholics won’t want to miss a trip to one of Cairo’s largest bazaars, the Khan al-Khalili market. As you navigate the winding streets of this Aladdin’s cave, you can expect a feast for the senses where mountains of spices sit alongside antiques, fragrant perfumes and hand crafted goods. Barter like a local and you may find that perfect holiday souvenir at a bargain price.
Beautiful beaches
Egypt’s Red Sea provides the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable beach holiday. Expect endless days of sunshine and five star luxury that comes at an affordable price. The area is also renowned for its water sports and world class scuba diving.
It’s safe
2016 marks an exciting year for Egypt as the government plans to boost tourism and make it safer than ever for the overseas traveler.
