Have I ever told you my wedding was a disaster? Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of love there and my family made it so special. However, about 8 months before my wedding we found out that we were due to have a “surprise” in 7 months! At about this time hormones were ruling my life and I was adamant that I would be married before my surprise arrived. I decided we would have a New Years Wedding.
Forget that I hate winter, I’m not a fan of the color red and I didn’t want a party theme because I would be 6 months pregnant. Like I said – hormones were ruling my life. Originally my bridesmaids were to have unmatched wedding dresses. Due to a million and one issues they were stuck wearing the exact same dress on 5 different body types. Don’t get me wrong they looked lovely but sooo matchy, matchy.
If I could do it again (and I plan on it one day) my girls will be wearing unmatched bridesmaids dresses that they can wear again! When it’s pulled of the unmatched dresses can look stunning. However, it’s easy to create a look that’s a disaster. Check out these gorgeous dresses and ideas below for inspiration.
- Doing “shades of” a certain color palette insures that you will still create a uniformed look that photographs well.
- Keeping to a certain length or fabric type keeps it looking cohesive.
- Vary the style but with the same color or vice versa.
