Wedding Cake Ideas
Some guys are very involved in wedding planning and some, well, unless you’re talking about tasting wedding cake or where the honeymoon should be, they’re uninterested. As far as the cake goes, most men are focused more on what flavor you choose, than whether its square, round, big or small.
The average couple spends about $600 for their cake, according to the Bridal Association of America. Recent trends include: cupcake towers, different flavored tiers, accessorizing with ribbon or bling, and using flavors other than chocolate or vanilla.
I’m a big fan of using flowers on the wedding cake to add color. Our wedding cake had fresh flowers that matched my bouquet.
This tropical cake is covered in passion-fruit curd and rum-and-vanilla-bean buttercream. The top of each tier is covered with more passion-fruit curd (YUM). They topped the cake with Hibiscus flowers, lychees, coconut, mini pineapple and bananas, and tamarillo. I would definitely line up to taste this creation and its perfect for any tropical wedding!
