The sea is calling this holiday season and we’ve put together a list of 10 Beach Cottage Christmas Decor Ideas inspired by surf, sand, sea shells, and casual beach cottages.
These vintage holiday stockings were provided to my family by and are available exclusively from Red Envelope. A first for us, I’m betting these will be the ones we will use for many, many years to come. They are incredibly thick, softly lined and just the perfect size. While we are currently lacking a mantle, these look great on our wall and are sure not to be missed by Santa on Christmas Eve.
These seashell trees are adorable and would be super easy to make with a hot glue gun. If you want to skip the DIY you can pick them up from the Seaglass Boutique on Etsy.
I love the weathered look of this “have a very beachy Christmas” sign. Must put on my “to make” list for next year!
This is a really great shelf display for an understated Christmas theme. I like that you could mix up the bows each year to freshen it up.
These burlap utensil holders are adorably beachy and the supplies to make them can be picked up at your local craft store. You could print out the Noel pennant in minutes using a ZINK hAppy.
I found this really great wreath on ebay. The fun mixture of traditional Christmas ornaments and seashells on this wreath make it so interesting. The spherical shape of some of the clam shells look just like ornaments from a distance, doesn’t it?
This is by far my favorite of the Beach Cottage Christmas Decor ideas! Lindsay at A Design Story picked it up at a local retailer, but I bet with a little ingenuity, a few appliqués and some minor sewing skills you could create your own. Who wants to come up with a design?
How cute are these seashell Christmas “trees”? These are great for carrying the theme throughout the entire house – put them on the mantel, the island, or even the bathroom vanity.
The DIY filled ornaments are easy to make and the “sandy feet” is spot on for a beach cottage Christmas. You can order these from Simply Seasonals at Etsy or choose from glass or plastic fillable ornaments on Amazon and make your own! I’ve been collecting sand from my travels around the world and will definitely be making these for our tree.
Speaking of ornaments, I made a bunch out of leftover seashells from our wedding decor last month! With just a bit of twine and a hot glue gun, we have the perfect wedding memories on our tree. See how here.
Thank you to Red Envelope for providing my family their first set of Christmas Stockings! All opinions remain my own.
These are super cute ideas. I love the beach cottage look.
These are such great decorating ideas! My mom loves the whole beach theme so I can’t wait to show her this post to help give her some ideas for next Christmas!
What cute ideas!!! I love them all!
Love, love, love Red Envelope! Every year I buy as many gifts as possible from there.
