I was born the fifth child of six which, as you can imagine, led to a lot of misbehavior. On one occasion at a department store, my older brothers talked my sister and me into playing hide and seek. Being small enough, we managed to climb into a rounder full of clothes. When my brothers found us, we jumped and squealed and knocked over the entire rounder. The saleswoman quickly asked my mother to leave. Therein is a glimpse at my mother’s lifelong struggle to encourage us to behave.
This struggle is what inspired The Bear on the Chair™. One family realized that after Christmas, their children’s behavior deteriorated when Santa was out of sight out of mind. Together the family came up with the idea of a teddy bear that was present year round. He is friends with the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the Tooth fairy, and a companion for your child that helps maintain good behavior through positive reinforcement. After purchasing the bear, you read the accompanying book to your child and give the bear a name. You can even register it on their website and receive a birth certificate. It wears a smiley face patch when your child is good and a frowning face patch when you child has misbehaved. It provides positive and negative reinforcement for behavior and teaches children about empathy.
It is a convenient way to gently remind children about their behavior without having to bribe or punish. The bear provides of sense of self awareness as well as an understanding of how behavior affects others. Browse information for The Bear on the Chair™ to determine if this would be a good fit for your own children.

My oldest has figured out about Santa, which has led to an improvement in her behavior. But the Bear would totally work on my other two, I think!
Great idea. He is so cute. Thank you for sharing. :)
That is such a great idea. I would love that for my daughter.
Wow What A Great Way To Encourage Kids They Are Adorable!!
This is a great idea! Now we do elf on the shelf to help maintain good behavior around Christmas, but you are right, behavior does deteriorate when there’s nothing good to work toward. What a great idea!
