Hanging drywall is as enjoyable as a root canal. When we first moved into our house there was a giant black mold stain on the living room ceiling. I don’t know what was more horrifying. The realization that I was, at that very moment, breathing in toxins or the idea that something straight from a horror movie may pop out of it as soon as darkness fell. About half way through tear down I started wondering just how bad living with black mold could be. Long story short? We ended up getting half way through the project and calling in the professionals. Hanging and finishing drywall is not for the faint of heart – or first time homeowners.
I still find myself wishing we had gone with another material. It would have saved us much time and a surprise dent in our renovation budget. In fact, we had considered other materials but the options at our local home improvement store looked cheap or were incredibly expensive. That is too funny of a title Totally agree… leave the dry-walling to the pros!
Hubby did drywall of two rooms in our home, I think if you know what you are doing, you can tackle any project. But understand what you are saying, not everybody can do it! It was much better when we hired somebody to do it.
I have helped hold drywall up before and even THAT part of it is no fun. I agree, that’s something to leave to the pros. :)
