This DIY Easter PEEPS Pops Recipe is easy enough for a toddler to help!
Easter is just around the corner. Are you ready? More importantly, are PEEPS® mandatory for you and your family? I used to BEG my parents for PEEPS® each year and would squeal in delight at their appearance in my Easter Basket.
This year, I received a mixed assortment of PEEPS® goodies and created my own #PeepsTreats to pass along the love to my son.
DIY Easter PEEPS Pops Recipe
Supplies
Wilton Silicone Brownie Squares Baking Mold
Mini Muffin Cups, Small, Pastel Assorted
White or Yellow Cake Mix
Green food coloring
Wilton Nonstick Cooling Rack
Wilton Lollipop Sticks, 6 inch (I used a variety of sizes – 4″, 6″ and 8″)
Wilton Flowerful Medley Sprinkles
Glue or royal icing
Easter Bunny PEEPS® (Variety)
Wilton Kelly Green Icing Tube
Wilton Decorating Tip: #233 (for grass)
Wilton Decorating Tip Coupler Ring
ZINK hAppy Printer + Size Purple zRoll
Directions
Place mini muffin cups into the holes of the brownie pan to create square cupcakes. Make your favorite cake batter and tint green with food coloring. Fill cups about 1/2 to 3/4 full and bake on a cookie sheet (for support) at 325 for about 12-15 minutes. Check with toothpick for desired doneness.
Remove mini cupcakes from brownie mold and allow to cool completely on a cooling rack. When cool, turn over and cut a small slit in center with tip of a sharp knife. This allows the lollipop sticks to go thru easily. DONT make this hole too big – you want it to be tight to help hold the cupcake up.
Push lollipop stick through leaving an additional 1/2 inch exposed to attach a bunny PEEP later. Decorate cups as desired using the Wilton Flowerful Sprinkles set. I used craft glue, but if you want them to be edible, you could use royal icing instead! This is a great step to have your toddler help too :)
Now add your PEEP bunny. TIP: Try twisting the bunny back and forth while gently pushing down.)
Attach the #233 tip to the ready made Kelly Green icing tube with the coupling ring and pipe “grass” around the base of the bunny.
NOTE: I used my ZINK hAppy printer to create a simple “Happy Easter” banner wrap and placed styrofoam into a small colorful bucket to hold my sticks in the desired arrangement.
