A huge thank you to Verizon for providing me with a DNA for review purposes and thus being the catalyst for the best stuffed burger recipe.
Does anyone else get tired of making the same old things all the time? Today I was in my kitchen, pacing from the fridge, to the pantry, to the lazy susan and back again. No matter how many times I shifted through our food nothing inspired me. Finally I threw my hands in the air and admitted defeat. Earlier this month I had subscribed to a recipe newsletter but it wasn’t any help. I decided to check out what google play had to offer and ultimately downloaded food network’s In the Kitchen app to my Droid DNA. I ended up adapting a delicious recipe for Feta Sun-Dried Tomato Stuffed Burgers. Honestly, I have had one burger, in my entire life, that rivaled this one in both taste and size. That burger came from the Gordon Ramsey restaurant in LA if that’s any indication of it’s caliber.
- Toppings
- 3/4c Mayonnaise
- 8 Finely Chopped Basil Leaves
- 6 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
- 6 Lg Red Onion Slices, Very Thing
- 6 Sets of Toasted Buns
- 6 Thin Slices Prosciutto or 6 Slices Cooked Bacon
- Stuffing
- 6oz Feta Cheese
- 1/2c Diced Sun-Dried Tomatos (Garlic and Oil Packed is Best)
- Burger
- 2 Beaten Medium Eggs
- 1 TBS Tabasco Sauce
- 2 TBS Dried Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Pepper
- 3 Minced Garlic Cloves
- 1/2c Italian Bread Crumbs
- 1/2c Parmesan Cheese
- 2lb Burger
- Mix together Mayonnaise and Basil Leaves. Set aside.
- In another bowl mix Feta Cheese and Tomatos. Then divide them into 6 equal portions, forming balls. Set aside.
- Mix all of the Burger ingredients together (burger, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan, Italian Seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic, and hot sauce) with your hands. Do so gently and do not overmix.
- Separate meat mixture into 12 patties.
- On half of the patties (6) place the feta/tomato mixture in the center.
- Lay the remaining patties on top. Seal the edges to enclose the filling.
- Place the 6 patties on a properly oiled griddle or frying pan.
- Cook until desired wellness. At least 4 minutes on each side.
- During the last minutes of cooking toast the burger buns.
- Top with lettuce, mayonnaise spread and Prosciutto/Bacon.
It turns out my DNA is perfect for recipe apps because it’s large screen shows the majority of the information. I don’t have to constantly zoom in or scroll while I cook – which is great when dealing with raw, sticky or greasy food. Plus, it’s camera is perfect for appeasing my newest obsession with Instagraming pictures of my creations.
