Last month I had the incredibly unique opportunity to visit the HGTV® Dream Home 2017 in picturesque St. Simons Island, Georgia. Only a few people actually get to step foot into the home before the big HGTV Dream Home Giveaway® 2017, and I’m feeling pretty darn lucky that one of those people were me! In addition to the residence and all its furnishings, the grand prize package includes a new Honda Pilot and $250,000 cash prize provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans® for a total value of more than $1.7 million. Wow.
As some of you know, we completely remodeled our first home a few years ago on our own and have a new DIY project in the works for our current place. When we moved further away from the beach in exchange for a much larger back yard, I made my husband promise that he would build me a beach – complete with guest cottage, outdoor kitchen, fire pit and fine white sand. We’ve been working on design and permits for months now, but as I walked through the HGTV Dream Home 2017, I quickly realized that it was filled with designs and touches (thanks to Brian Patrick Flynn) that I just *needed* to recreate at home.
I’m not quite ready yet to do the interior since the cottage isn’t even built yet, but I wanted to be able to track down the items I loved exactly, and not just something that looks similar. Lucky for me, Brian furnished the entire home using things any one of us can purchase on Wayfair.com! I also know for a fact that many of you are also wondering where to get certain items you’ve seen me share, so I thought I’d go through each room of the house and create a shopable look book for us all. You know, just in case you or I don’t actually win the giveaway, we can still use Brian’s design esthetics to help turn our own spaces into mini dream homes.
I’d like to start with one of my favorite rooms, the HGTV Dream Home 2017 Master Bedroom.
The first thing I fell in love with in this room was the rug – what a beautiful statement piece! Then I was drawn to the metal bird artwork above the bed (which I’ve already purchased!) and the stunning patterned settee bench. Even though I don’t have a room ready for these beauties, they are my must have pieces that I am determined to get my hands on now – hahah!
So I’ve done the legwork and scoured the Wayfair site for us to create this easy click and buy layout below. If you see something you really like, I’d recommend you buy it now because sometimes when they sell out of items, they won’t come back in stock!

My goodness that’s beautiful! Just curious, do you know the paint color they used? I would love to use that in my home!
That bedroom is GORGEOUS!! I am in love with that rug too. I wonder if they have them in different colors.
That blue color is so nice for a room. I love the navy coastal decor look so some of these pieces belong in my house!
