We look for any excuse we can to get together with family and friends. One of my favorite occasions are holiday parties! While we have not hosted our own Christmas party (yet) I have been toying with the idea this year and probably will next year. But since we haven’t lived in our house long, and haven’t yet amassed an ‘acceptable’ amount of Christmas decor I’ll need some time to plan. Here are some really great ideas I’ve found among various places across the web.
The Invitations
These ornament invitations are adorable and easily made.
Centerpieces
Centerpieces are not my forte, which is why I love these arrangements from 1-800-Flowers. My favorite has to be the Traditional Christmas Centerpiece with a glass hurricane vase. It just screams classic christmas and looked gorgeous both on our family dinner table and at our Christmas Party! (Thanks, 1800Flowers)
The Fields of Europe (top right) and Winter Wonderland (bottom left) would also make nice centerpieces but I would use them to keep the festive theme throughout the house, perhaps sitting on a counter or a stand in the living area. Lastly, the Welcome Margarita would be a fun place to keep near the bar in the kitchen.
Food
My favorite part of this appetizer bar are the peppermint cotton candy filled glass flutes waiting to be topped with champagne.
Can you believe that these place cards are completely edible cookies that actually hang on cups?
I’m kind of obsessed with hot cocoa during the winter months. This hot cocoa bar includes fun ways to spruce up your beverage with mints, chocolate candies, creams and other adult beverages.
Serve your guest their drinks with these fun DIY Ornament party drinks, they’re super easy to create with just dowel, glue, glitter, an ornament and a festive straw.
Fun
How fun would it be to have a photo booth area set up for our guest? There are so many fun props to be had for a holiday party and with our Zink hAppy they could print photo strips right from their phones!

I know some think it old fashioned, but I love the hurricane glass with roses and lillies at Christmas. A throwback to the past in decor. Yay for tradition!
Oh these are all so adorable! I love them all!! The centerpiece with the candle is awesome and so is the DIY ornament party drink! I can’t even believe those cookies are edible and the photography props are marvelous! ;)
What fun. I love the photo booth idea!
Oriental Trading is a great place to get Christmas Crafts from. I love the fresh flower centerpieces you have shown here! If we were more of the hosting type, I would love to display a festive bundle!
Those photography props are a hoot! It would be so fun to set up a little studio or space for a photo booth.
