The key to wearing less makeup is to first start with the inside. Skin that is well taken care of will be softer, smoother and more supple. Start by drinking plenty of water. Water flushes away toxins and hydrates your skin giving it a natural glow. Fresh air and exercise have the same affect – bonus you’ll feel good too! Lastly sunscreen and moisturizer. Sure UV rays may give your skin that sunkissed glow but it’s also extremely damaging. While moisturizing your skin daily will keep it soft and healthy, it will also help keep your skin beautiful as you age.
Once your skin is healthy you’ll find that it’s much easier to wear less makeup and still look great! Just check out these gorgeous natural makeup looks on Emma Stone and Blake Lively.

Tips for a Minimal Makeup Routine
- Spend a little extra and use quality cleansers, moisturizers and specialty serums, like the L’eclisse Stem Cell Rejuvenating Skin Serum. A little usually goes a long way with these and the results are well worth the extra few dollars spent!
- It’s all about the eyes and nothing looks better when they are well rested and sans baggage. The L’eclisse Cucumber Peptide Intensive Eye Cream has age defying peptides and revitalizes the delicate eye area.
- Skip a heavy foundation and try a tinted moisturizer or pressed powder like the L’eclisse Pressed Mineral Foundation or Rice Setting Powder. Use a large brush to apply and it will help even out your skin without having to worry about clogged pores, caking or clown face.
- The great thing about Mascara? It stays off your face. Done properly mascara can make your eyes pop by making them look bigger and more awake. Tip: For a more natural look consider a brown mascara and go for length rather than volume to avoid the clumpy spider look.
- Choose a shade of blush that is similar to your cheeks naturally rosy look (when you’re warm or if you pinch them). The fluffier blush brush the better. Apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks sweeping out towards your hairline. Tip: If you choose to apply bronzer apply it below the apples.
- Skip the heavy lipstick and go for tinted lip balms, stains, nude lipstick or a nice gloss instead. We like the L’eclisse Natural Lip Gloss in Amber Beige.

Oooh, I’ve never heard of this company and am looking for a new skin care routine right now – this is perfect timing. And I need to be better about drinking water. :-/
Love these tips! When I try to dress up for a night out I tend to look way overdone. Thanks!
