I’ve been going to Red Lobster ever since I can remember. Their famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits were my first “favorite restaurant dish” and I still get excited at the thought of eating the tops off every one in the basket. (There is a great copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit recipe here).
When I returned at age 33, I discovered the Lobsterita – 18oz of the most amazing frozen margarita ever. A new favorite I never even knew existed from a place I’d visited all my life. So when I recently saw the return of their Endless Shrimp promotion on TV, I knew it was about time that I introduced Whistler to the deliciousness to begin the new generation.
The instant we walked in the door, we were presented with yet another first and memorable experience. The first time getting to touch one of the lobsters!
Back for its 12th year, Endless Shrimp is one of the restaurant’s most popular, highly-anticipated promotions. At just $15.99, it’s a great date night meal thats both indulgent, yet affordable. Yumm. We had a good look at the menu and before we knew it, Whistler and I had eaten every biscuit but one. HA! Mission already accomplished.
Still hungry and ready to eat, I had the option of an endless supply of:
• Spicy Soy-Wasabi Grilled Shrimp
• Hand-Breaded Shrimp
• Garlic Shrimp Scampi
• Shrimp Linguini Alfredo
…along with salad and a side. I wasn’t feeling much like a salad so I asked if I could substitute a second side to go along with my go-to choice of scampi and the new spicy soy-wasabi grilled shrimp.
For my shrimp refill, I went with scampi again and the hand breaded shrimp which promptly put me into a delicious food coma. Ben opted for the go big or go home choice of the Wood Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops and who can blame him when it looks like this?
I can’t thank Mom Central and Red Lobster enough for providing me with a gift certificate to enjoy this family meal. This visit was filled with a few “first”s for us and I’m excited to see what they have in store for us next time!
