I fell in love with claymation movies back in the 8th grade when a teacher introduced me to the British stop-motion, claymation series Wallace and Grommit. I don’t know if was the English humor or the fact that I enjoy stop-motion films, but either way I was hooked. Imagine my delight to be sitting in the theatre with my daughter a few weeks ago and see a preview for a new movie where Shaun the Sheep is back to some of his old antics.
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Lionsgate. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
When Shaun decides to take the day off and have some fun, he gets a little more action than he bargained for. A mix up with the Farmer, a caravan, and a very steep hill lead them all to the Big City and it’s up to Shaun and the flock to return everyone safely to the green grass of home.
If you’re kid is anything like mine, what we see in theaters is largely determined by what previews are playing during our current movie. Watching them is like going through a checklist. She either adamantly whispers “Mom, I want to see that!” or I get a side eye and a “What is that about?” I honestly wasn’t surprised when Shaun the Sheep got a resounding yes, since my daughter has a mischievous streak of her own and she is her mother’s daughter after all.
Kids will love to see some of Shaun and the gangs sillier antics, fun adventures and rich animation like in this clip. While parents can feel good about the teamwork, leadership, and problem solving themes as educational aspects of the film – even if the sheep seem to lack proper restaurant etiquette and good table manners, they are sheep after all.
Shaun the Sheep will be escaping into theaters everywhere on August 5th. Get more exciting information about the movie on Shaun the Sheep Facebook and Twitter.
