DIY Bat Halloween Decorations
Last year was our first Halloween party and over all it went really well. The food was great and the company even better but I really slacked on the decor. :( My decorations were limited to just one room of the house. This year I’m determined to carry the spoooooooky Halloween theme throughout the entire house. The cheapest (and most fun) way to accomplish that is by creating my own DIY decorations!
Clothespin Bats
With these super cute clothespin bats from Martha Stewart, I just may be able to pull it off. I love these because I can put them on things that may be hard to decorate otherwise like lamps, curtains, and picture frames. You’ll need to download the Bat Template and gather up these supplies: Wooden clothespins, Pencil, Oak tag, Scissors, White pencil, Black construction paper, Mini hole punch or pushpin, Glue stick, Black spray pains and Craft glue. Then visit Martha Stewart for detailed instructions on how to make this fun halloween craft.
Felt Bat Doorway
This would be a very easy craft to do with your kids because making these creepy bats involves little more than using a pair of scissors, glue and some pieces of felt. Get the instructions from Country Living here.
Vampire Balloon Bat
I love this cute bat and think it would be great for a Halloween party. Not too scary, you could easily turn this into a raffle sort of prize game by making a few of these and pre-filling them all with confetti. Choose one to be the “winner” and put a special note inside. Have guests choose their balloon and do the game last before everyone goes home. It’s sure to be a blast! Get the instructions from Spoonful (the old Disney FamilyFun site).
Painted Bat Mini Pumpkins
Using mini pumpkins for this project allows you to place these DIY bat decorations just about anywhere inside your home.
DIY Halloween Bat Mobile
I think using a branch as the base for this DIY Halloween Bat Mobile is GENIUS! Princess Approved shares detailed step-by-step instructions on her blog if you’d like to try to make your own!
I love the pin bats. That would be a blast for my preschooler. Thanks for the ideas.
