On Friday, we left bitter Michigan on a plane and touched down in sunny Florida just 3 hours later. It had been a long time since we saw green grass, flowers or even a sunny day for that matter. My toddler couldn’t contain herself. As we walked to our vehicle, she went on and on about the weather.
“Oh my gosh mom it’s warm out. It’s so warm out. I don’t even need a coat! IT’S SO WARM OUT!!”
We had big plans for this vacation but what I wasn’t prepared for was a private concert of Let it Go by 3 year old prodigy Maddilyn Tru – you better watch out ‘Adele Dazeem’! ;) Thankfully I had my new Nokia Lumia Icon on me and with some quick thinking, captured this fun video for our family.
The following days were spent at amusements parks and our nights at dinner shows like Medieval Times. It had been many years since I visited Medieval times so it was like seeing it for the first time. We got pretty good seats at the end of the arena, although I wish we had arrived earlier to get lower seats – it’s first come first serve. Regardless, I was still able to capture some great shots, which surprised me since it they were at action shots, in full zoom and these can be tricky under even good lighting conditions!
Surprisingly, my phone even out performed my DSLR lens thanks to it’s f/2.4 aperture. After that, I left the DSLR at home. With the Lumia Icon I didn’t find it necessary to lug it around, which will be great tomorrow because we’re headed to Cocoa Beach!
Thank you to Nokia and Verizon for providing the Lumia Icon for purposes of this article. All opinions remain my own.
Those are fantastic pictures and it sounds like you had lots of fun! I’m going to have to check out the Nokia Lumia Icon.
It was wonderful to look back at your photos and see the world from your perspective.
the group shot is amazing. I like how coordinated you all look too.
Love the beach pics! How nice to have that to look back on…… And Mideivel Times is such a fun show. I actually have been wanting to go back there, but haven’t yet.
What a fun way to spend spring break with your family. I’ve been to Medieval Times and it’s such a fun place. Great photos.
