It’s been a busy month for our family. We began our journey to Michigan in March and for the last five weeks, we’ve bounced back and forth between Michigan and Florida. In between, my daughter has had three birthday parties, trips to the zoo and more than a few plane rides. About half way through our month of adventure she received a unique gift, just in time for her birthday. The VTech®Kidizoom® Action Cam. It is just like mom’s action cam in that it features a durable design, mounts for attaching to a bike, skateboard, or scooter and it’s waterproof!
Unlike mom’s tech, it comes in at a fraction of the price and all the accessories are included for just $59.99. We had a chance to play with the Action Cam during an afternoon at the zoo and my daughter’s birthday party. The 1.4″ color LCD screen was perfect for allowing her to snap photos of otters, one of her favorite zoo animals.
Unfortunately, taking underwater video in the Penguin enclosure is frowned upon, but we were able to test it out in the Koi pond. Warning: Do not watch if you’re prone to motion sickness, this film director wanted 360 degree views.
Next on our busy schedule was a day spent with friends on the trampoline. The kids loved taking turns snapping photos of eachother.
Thanks to the rechargeable battery and expandable memory (up to 32GB with a microSD card) the kids could fill it with as many selfies, gems, photo bombs and “oopsies” as they could manage. Unlike other toys, I didn’t have to worry about it being passed around since it’s built to withstand bumps and drops. Which will be handy as we’re learning to ride our bike this summer!
The VTech®Kidizoom® Action Cam retails for $59.99 and is available at Walmart.com on May 1st, in your local Walmart stores on May 11th and will be available nationwide this summer. Thank you to VTech for providing product. All opinions remain our own.
I love that it’s waterproof. Would come in handy during our family trips to the lake. My kids would love this.
How fun! My 4 1/2 year old is always asking to use our phones to take pictures. It is time he got his own, and the Kidizoom looks like a good choice!
Your kids will be professional photographers before they are old enough to drive! Good job, VTech, on getting kids ready for the real world!
