This post brought to you by Wrigley’s Focus 5 Gum. All opinions are 100% mine.
My parents weren't keen on giving their kids sweets growing up. Since my mom is a nurse her reasoning was that we didn't need the sugar. Really I think it had more to do with the terrifying thought of giving 5 children, all a year apart in age, a sugar buzz. The one treat they did allow was gum. I theorize that had more to do with the silence in the back seat as it kept our mouths occupied. We always liked Wrigley gum because there was 5 kids and 5 flavors (Juicy Fruit, Spearmint, Winterfresh, Doublemint, and Big Red). You do the math.
Then one day in a few years ago I discovered a new gum on the block. 5 Gum in Colbat flavor was awesome. It came in new packaging that fit right in my purpose and it tasted great. I had no idea it was made from the Wrigley. I still chew it regularly, especially now as I'm working on getting physically healthy, as a way to keep my mouth occupied – and life comes full circle.
But now Wrigley has come out with yet another new product, 5® Focus™ gum. I haven't tried it yet but as a person who consumes high doses of caffeine just to make it through the day I'm intrigued. At first I thought it may be caffeinated gum. It isn't but I think it's alternative may be even better. 5® Focus™ gum is both caffeine and sugar free. Instead the intense mint flavor is supposed to be like a jolt to the senses – perhaps like a good slap to the face minus the sting and social stigma of 'crazy.' Win-Win right? It sounds like it would be perfect for those times where I need just 10 more minutes of intense productivity before I can crash for the night.
You can pick up new Focus 5 Gum at CVS in 15 piece resealable pouches. They are even offering up a BOGO Free Coupon so you can try both spearmint and peppermint flavors.
Taking a shower keeps me awake. Unfortunately, I am unable to have caffeine.
